During your International Internship, you’ll be working with our awesome partner WWF. World Wildlife Fund Gabon works on sustainable management of forests, integrated landscape management, and community-based management. WWF Gabon’s works primarily at two priority sites: the forest landscape in northeastern Gabon, as well as the coastal landscape of the Gamba Protected Area Complex (GPAC) in the south.
What you’ll do:
Support the team to develop curriculum on sustainable development for the environment including training tools, guides and other development.
Engaging and build partnerships with key partners, including women’s empowerment organizations.
Support the other activities of the Youth Programs Office (study club, sports, recreational activities).
Identify and map young people organizations and support the implementation of concrete actions for biodiversity conservation.
Monitor, support and report on youth activities, projects, and any other programmatic challenges that may create a barrier to achieving said goals/objectives with the Youth Leadership Program Coordinator.
You’re the perfect fit if possess these qualities:
Bachelor or Master’s Degree candidate with teaching or social work or youth development background.
Experience working with youth in formal or informal setting (camp counselor, tutor, student teaching) and extensive experience in social work and youth development;
Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with local schools and community partners, as well as local and state policymakers;
French fluency required.
Possess a professional demeanor.
Enthusiasm for public service and interest in social justice.
Posses and demonstrate sound judgment.
Good work ethic.
Be a team player and a collaborative worker.
Have good interpersonal relationship skills.
Posses some knowledge of non-profit sector.
Be highly organized, capable of multi-tasking and able to work under pressure.
Presentation skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint.
Have time management abilities and organization skills.
Be a self-starter capable of working independently.
