The Position
Support Plan International Country Offices through the full cycle of project management including project planning and start-up, implementation and routine monitoring, development of annual work plans and budgets, and project close out in line with donor requirements and Plan International internal procedures.
Monitor assigned projects to ensure adherence to donor agreements, project management and programmatic performance targets, visiting project sites in West Africa, Eastern and Southern Africa, and Central America as required
Review and support the preparation of progress reports, both to donors as well as internally within Plan International Canada
Work collaboratively with Compliance Managers to review and oversee project budgets, forecasts and donor financial reports ensure financial targets are being met
Work closely with technical counterparts (health advisors, gender equality and inclusion advisors, monitoring and evaluation, etc.) to review and support technical aspects of project implementation to ensure quality programming and donor targets are being met
Support Plan country offices in the development of annual detailed implementation plans, funding proposals and participate actively during negotiation processes with donors
Support the development and maintenance of systems and tools to improve efficiencies of managing the Global Fund portfolio of grants

A clear ability to work within a results-based management and/or performance-based financing programmatic framework
Strong collaboration and collegiality demonstrated to work independently and manage work from a distance
A strong commitment to the principles of gender equality, social inclusion, safeguarding for children and youth, and an ability to translate that understanding into concrete action plans with respect to ongoing project implementation
As our ideal candidate you will have:
Exceptional oral and written communications skills in English and Spanish OR English and French, and a clear ability to manage not only compiling reports but analyzing information and making decisions
Demonstrated experience in work related to global health delivery or equivalent experience in grant management and project management; experience with gender-transformative programming would be an asset
Strong capacity to successfully manage multiple projects while simultaneously coordinating inter-departmental collaboration
Experience contributing to risk assurance planning linked to program, finance, and data quality and ability to think through risk mitigation measures and assurance mechanisms
Experience working with multilateral funders such as the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, or other large-scale health donors, would be valued
Ability to balance project-related processes as well as maintaining assurance related to organizational policies
