Brief Description:
Ethiopiaid is looking for a Grants Manager to write, research and apply for grants.
Part-time: 8 hours per week
Contract: 1 year from start date with potential to become permanent
Salary range: $12,000-$13,500 per annum ($28.85-$32.45 per hour) depending on skills and experience
We need help in telling our story to potential funders. We are searching for someone who has experience in grant writing, with an understanding of the types of information that potential funders want and need when considering us.
The Grants Manager must have an exceptional command of the written language as well as an excellent track record in writing proposals and grants at various government levels, private sector and other grants for grassroots organizations. The candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and the Fundraising Committee to gather all relevant information required for the submission of these applications. The position requires researching & assessing potential grant applications for their relevance to our organization and will involve writing compelling, strategic applications in a timely manner to meet grant deadlines. It will also involve writing follow up reports for successful grants.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-Interest in Grant Writing and/or Grant Writing Experience
-Excellent writing ability
-Good research skills
-Attention to detail
-Understanding of both qualitative and quantitative methods
-Organized, self-directed, and able to work independently
Responsibilities:
-Review current list of grants
-Research new grant opportunities using tools like GrantConnect and Funds for NGOs
-Write grant proposals and apply for grants with the guidance of Ethiopiaid Canada Staff
-Track grant submission and progress
-Possible communications with international partners to gather grant information
-Follow up reports to grantors
Work Environment
• Willingness to work flexible hours—some after-hours work may be required.
• Working remotely during COVID-19 is supported and encouraged. Under more regular circumstances, work occurs at the office (484 Gladstone Ave, in Ottawa) with some flexibility to work remotely. (The position is 8 hours per week and can be worked all in one day or on a schedule decided on with the Executive Director)
