Brief Description:

Canadian Friends Service Committee (CFSC) is the peace and social justice agency of The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in Canada. CFSC works to develop transformative and sustainable approaches to human rights, justice, and peace.

CFSC has a position based at the national office in Toronto. The Assistant, CFSC Events and Indigenous Rights is a full-time position (35 work hours/week). The Assistant’s role is to support the work of the Indigenous rights program committee. The Assistant also coordinates events and outreach for all of CFSC.

Work includes:

Providing support to the Indigenous rights program committee
Planning and coordinating events for all of CFSC
Other administrative tasks
The ideal candidate will have:

Familiarity with Indigenous rights as demonstrated by related academic studies or a background in Indigenous rights work
Familiarity with event planning, marketing, and/or outreach
Experience working with small (under 10 staff) businesses or nonprofits that require adaptability
Proven creative and flexible on-the-job problem solving
