Spotlight on Refugee Youth: A Blog Series
Event Details
The Migration Initiative (MI), the Syrian Canadian Foundation (SCF), and Fast Forward Global Initiative (FFGI) invite Refugee Youth to share their integration experiences in Canada. This new blog series aims to amplify refugee experiences and mobilize knowledge on refugee policy
outcomes.
Participant stories will be published under MI’s “Refugee Experience” Cluster which is a co-creation space for migrants, refugees, and newcomers.
Submission Deadline: February 26, 2021

A mentorship program is available to help guide and support participants through the publishing process. To be paired with a mentor, please indicate your interest when filling out the form above. Participants may also choose to submit their piece anonymously or using a pseudonym (fakename) to protect their identity. If so, please indicate yes when filling out the form above. No identifying information (i.e. name) will be published, and participant information will be kept in confidence. Only the lead and managing editor will have access to the information filled out in the form above. Accordingly, blog posts will undergo a blind review during the peer-review process.
Submission Guidelines
1. Between 700-1000 words in length
2. An integration topic of your choice (i.e. belonging, social/cultural connections, education,
labour market, art)
3. A photo to include in your blog post
