Brief Description:
The International Aboriginal Youth Internships (IAYI) initiative is a Global Affairs Canada funded grant, which aims to empower Indigenous youth to engage as global citizens in Canada and abroad. JGI Canada is the lead agency in partnership with BC First Nations Forestry Council and Fair Trade Carbon Uganda to execute this grant. The IAYI program outcome is achieved by providing Indigenous youth with valuable work experience and skills-building through overseas internship placements (4-month duration), as well as community engagement opportunities upon returning to Canada. The mandatory pre-departure training, post-integration activities, as well as in-country logistics are critical components of the program to ensure successful implementation.
Request for Proposal:
JGI Canada is seeking an experienced consultant (an individual or a firm) to provide support for the pre-departure and post-integration activities, in addition to coordinating in-country logistics.
The Consultant will work collaboratively with JGI Canada, BC First Nations Forestry Council and Fair Trade Carbon Uganda, and ultimately accountable to JGI Canada based on agreed upon Terms of Reference (TOR). The duration of the consultancy will be based on level of efforts to be outlined in the TOR, and is expected to last for the length of the IAYI initiative (2018-2022).
