Brief Description:

Background:
Acted Canada has launched a Youth Engagement Program to connect Canadian students with Acted missions worldwide. This initiative aims to provide students with practical exposure to international cooperation while enabling Acted to benefit from the creativity, innovation, and energy of Canadian youth. The program also promotes Acted’s 3Zero vision - Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, and Zero Poverty among the next generation of changemakers.

Objectives:
The volunteer will support the development and implementation of the Youth Engagement Program by identifying student groups, building partnerships with universities, and facilitating connections between Canadian youth and Acted country missions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Map and identify student clubs, youth associations, and university networks across Canada with an interest in international cooperation and sustainable development.
• Support outreach and engagement with identified groups to introduce Acted’s work and the 3Zero vision.
• Assist in building connections between Canadian student groups and Acted’s country missions based on thematic or geographic interests.
• Contribute to the design and coordination of youth-focused activities, including webinars, workshops, and collaborative projects.
• Help develop communication materials to promote the program and share success stories.

Expected Deliverables:

• A database of student groups and youth networks with contact information and engagement potential.
• Outreach strategy and engagement plan.
• Event plans and logistical support documents.
• Communication and promotional content (e.g., flyers, social media posts, newsletters).

Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program (e.g., International Development, Education, Communications, Environmental Studies, etc.).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Passion for youth engagement, global citizenship, and sustainable development.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Experience with outreach, event planning, or youth leadership is an asset.
