The Volunteer’s Role

To support and advise in the production of educational material for youth in the areas of social risk prevention and to improve the effectiveness of Benishangul-Gumuz Regional Health Bureau in providing quality health services. Hence, through capacity building and gap analysis, this post holder (the volunteer) will work with the regional health bureau members and different departments of the bureau and provide the health workers with technical support (training, mentoring, capacity building activities) to deliver relevant and engaging health services, improving client satisfaction and helping increase the bureaus’ service delivery.

As a volunteer, you will:

-Working in collaboration with the RHB leadership, staff in reviewing and adjustment of existing educational materials for social risk prevention

-Work with various project staff, and local partners in preparation of a guide for factors on social risks prevention

-Work with partners to identify opportunities to support Primary Health Facilities

-Identify and support youth from the community for peer support mentoring and support community events

Essential Academic Qualifications:

-University Degree in education, gender studies, international development, social work or related field.

Essential Professional Background:

-Experience in capacity building, training and mentoring;

-Strong observation and analytical skills;

-Excellent verbal and communication skills;

-Experience developing and delivering gender equality interventions

-Experience in development of educational material

-Desire to work with organizations involved in marginalized communities.
