Brief Description:
Good Neighbors Canada seeks experienced event planners to coordinate a Toronto-based fundraising event for our Wishing Well program this summer, an initiative delivering safe, accessible drinking water to rural Zambia. It costs just over $3,000 CAD to build one well, which in turn can change the lives of hundreds of people. In 2023, Good Neighbors Canada aims to fundraise $20,000 in order to support the building of six new wells in rural Zambia.
The Wishing Well Committee is responsible for the promotion of the Wishing Well project, and importantly, managing the fundraiser event Step4Water, to be held in September 2023.
Step4Water is a 5K fun run which will be held in downtown Toronto in September (date and time will soon be confirmed). Participants are invited to run or walk the distance of 5K, the typical distance that most children in rural Zambia need to travel every single day to fetch water. Friends and family are also invited to attend to cheer on our participants, enjoy some food and drink, partake in the on-site activities and learn more about the fundraising cause.
Good Neighbors Canada is seeking dedicated, passionate event planners to join our Wishing Well Committee to bring accessible drinking water to rural Zambia this summer. The Committee members will be free to volunteer themselves for responsibilities which align best with their existing skills and experience.
