About YMCA-IYIP
The International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), funded by Global Affairs Canada, offers young Canadians (ages 18–30) hands-on international experience in community development and youth empowerment. Through 4 or 5 month internships with YMCA partners in Bogotá (YMCA Bogotá), Cali (YMCA Cali), YMCA Colombia (national office, Bogotá-based), Risaralda (YMCA Risaralda), YMCA Togo, and YMCA Sierra Leone, participants gain practical skills, global connections, and leadership experience while contributing to meaningful local projects.
Eligibility Criteria:
Be 18- to 30-years-old when the internship begins
Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
Be Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+, or a young person living with a disability, who has faced employment obstacles
Be available to be away from Canada for the entire duration of the internship period.
