Annual Project Survey Consultant

Location: Our office is based in Toronto, Ontario. The consultant can work remotely with some traveling required.

Reports to: Research and Evaluation Manager

Compensation: $30 per hour (weekly hours are approximately 37.5 hours and may vary) for a 4 month period from August 29, 2022 to December 29, 2022

Responsibilities:

Traveling to six or more Community Food Centres across Canada and spending one week working with survey assistants to conduct in-person verbal surveys with people who take part in Community Food Centre programs
Training and supervising survey assistants to administer the survey
Conducting data entry and analysis of the data using mixed-method approach.
Prepare 12 reports, including analysis, data visualization and narrative.

Qualifications:

Excellent interviewing skills
Experience in training and supervising staff
Excellent time management, attention to detail, and troubleshooting skills
Strong writing and communication skills
Proficiency in analyzing large data sets in Microsoft Excel including writing formulas, designing pivot tables and other data management techniques
Outgoing, friendly, non-judgmental and professional
Experience with or knowledge of community-based food programs and/or understanding of hunger/poverty/food systems issues is an asset
Ability to work independently and complete all deliverables
Driver’s license is an asset
