About
Academics Without Borders – Universitaires sans frontières (AWB-USF) partners with universities and colleges in the low and middle income countries to support capacity building in institutions of higher education. Academics Without Borders’ projects are involved in activities such as expanding and improving existing institutions and programs, to helping create new ones so that local universities and colleges can train their own experts and conduct research to assist in their countries’ development.
AWB-USF’s projects have taken our volunteers around the world, from Africa to Asia to South America. Volunteers devote their time, energy, and expertise to short- and long-term projects that foster the skills and knowledge needed locally in areas such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and business—the building blocks of successful societies and countries. The projects take place in all areas at universities and colleges, including teaching, research, and back-office operations.
