LATIN AMERICA: Struggles, Solidarity, Hope

Canadian Jesuits International (CJI) is very happy to welcome Fr Roberto Jaramillo SJ, President of the Jesuit Conference of Provincials of Latin America, on a visit to Canada. If you are in the Toronto area, please come to hear Fr Roberto speak on “Latin America: Struggles, Solidarity, Hope” at our first public event of 2018. Details are on the poster below and may be downloaded here.

Fr Roberto Jaramillo has been a Jesuit for 36 years and holds a PhD in Anthropology (EHESS/Paris). He worked for 18 years in the Amazonian region of Brazil, and is the former coordinator of the Social Apostolate for the Jesuits in Latin America.

At the public event, Fr Roberto will discuss some of the major social and political issues in Latin America. In particular, he will focus on how people are addressing the need for social change and just societies, and how the Jesuits are accompanying them in this process.
