Event Summary
Sustainable Change: Your Guide to Taking Action
Event Details
Humber College is once again bringing together the Humber community to celebrate International Development Week (IDW). This annual nationwide initiative encourages Canadians, especially youth, to learn more about and contribute to international development. Each year, hundreds of students and faculty participate in this event, eager to gain a wider global perspective and share their experiences and ideas on ways to reduce poverty and inequality.
Our theme this year is ‘Sustainable Change: Your Guide to Taking Action’ and focuses broadly on equality and empowerment and Canada’s global efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. We invite you to join us in marking this important day as we highlight efforts made by the Humber community and other organizations in building a better, more inclusive, peaceful and prosperous world.
Sign up, speak out and take action on the SDGs! Visit with representatives from NGOs and community-based organizations who are contributing to the SDGs to find out ways to get involved. This is a great opportunity to discover your next internship, volunteer placement or cause to get behind.
Meet special guest, radio and TV personality and World Food Programme Ambassador, George Stroumboulopoulos who will have a live social media stream from the event!
