Board Governance – How to guide the ship

This workshop will help participants build a plan for how to establish a governance structure defined to refer to structures and processes that are designed to ensure accountability, transparency, responsiveness, rule of law, stability, equity and inclusiveness, empowerment, and broad-based participation that guides the organization, so all members are engaged and their skills are utilized.

Session 4: Governance. Presenter and subject matter expert: Jane Garthson

A trusted provider of leadership services to Canadian not-for-profits since 1992, Jane Garthson consults, trains, and writes on leading edge and practical thinking in governance. Past roles include Interim Executive Director of a provincial federation and a charity, regulatory Commissioner and chair of a national professional association. After volunteering on the Ethics Committee of Canadian Council for International Cooperation, Jane redrafted the governance sections of its Standards and Guidance documents.

All are welcome, the venue is fully accessible and refreshments will be served!
