Film Screening and Director Q&A – Heredera del Viento | Heiress of the Wind

Event Details

This 90 minute documentary film chronicles Gloria Carrion Fonseca’s experience as the daughter of Carlos Carrion and Ivette Fonseca, two prominent leaders of the Nicaraguan Sandinista Revolution. With them she experienced the rise and fall of the revolutionary dream.

Now, 38 years later, Gloria begins a search of that past through a kaleidoscope of memories that will challenge the myth of the revolution, redeeming the pain caused by collective amnesia.

This touching film was made with the support of the Tribeca TFI Latin American Fund, the IDFA Bertha Fund, and the Ford Foundation. Audiences have given rave reviews at festivals in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Guadalajara, Guatemala, Havana, Managua, Mexico, Montevideo, New York, Panama, Quito, San Jose, Santiago, Stockholm, Toronto, and Vancouver.

At this pivotal moment of crisis in Nicaragua, join us for Heredera del Viento | Heiress of the Wind (in Spanish with English subtitles), followed by Q & A with Director Gloria Carrion Fonseca and refreshments from the CSI Cafe.
