Environmental Advocacy: How to Hit the Ground Running Post-Election

Event Details

This session will provide an update on the political landscape as the federal election draws near.  It will focus on the critical 60-day period that follows an election, with topics including:

  • Planning for likely election results;
  • What are the key relationships to focus on post-election;
  • How will the platform get translated into mandate letters and a Speech from the Throne; and
  • What are the key processes for the new Government and key windows of opportunity for advocacy.

This is the second in this year’s three-part series on “Lobbying 201.” It is for those who have at least some experience with government relations, and want to learn more. The format will be interactive, with opportunities for Q&A and discussion of specific examples. The main focus will be on the federal government, although it can inform advocacy at the provincial level, and to some degree, the municipal.
