Ending Ultra-Poverty Summit

Event Details

One of the greatest opportunities in our time is to see the end of extreme poverty by 2030. The World Bank and the United Nations prefer “No Poverty” as the first of the Sustainable Development Goals.

• Less poverty means more income and better health
• More income means more food
• More food means children grow to their full height and full mental capacity
• More income means more children in school
• More educated children means nations are rebuilt from the ground up to tackle their biggest challenges

Most observers agree with what needs to be done. The question is how?

The scale of projects that Rotary can finance is small compared to the challenge, but small, groundbreaking, well documented initiatives can move the needle on how to best achieve the end of extreme poverty. During the Summit you will have the chance to dive in with the experts as you design a series of $100,000 projects that will have an ongoing impact on the lives of people living in ultra-poverty. It is these kinds of projects that can be built to a scale that make a difference.

Imagine a world without poverty. Join us the Ending Ultra-Poverty Summit on June 28th, 2018 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. Roll up your sleeves and join a group of global experts as we learn, collaborate and build projects that will finish that job to end extreme poverty by 2030.
