Webinar: Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (“ONCA”) Refresher: Compliance after the transition deadline

Event Details

The Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 (“ONCA”) came into force on October 19, 2021. Not-for-profit corporations that were previously governed under the Corporations Act were provided a three-year transition period until October 18, 2024, to make any necessary changes to provisions in their governing documents to bring them into compliance with the ONCA. Many not-for-profit corporations are now wondering: what now? Can we still comply?

This webinar will provide a high-level overview of the new legislation, key steps of the transition process, and the significance of the ending of the transition period.  This webinar will be a beneficial refresher for all Ontario charities and non-profit organizations subject to the ONCA. For those Ontario not-for-profit corporations that have yet to complete their transition process or those organizations that undertook the transition themselves without legal assistance, this webinar could be especially helpful.
