Event Details

Join us for an insightful conversation with Canadian and international delegates as they reflect on their experiences at the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York. Hear firsthand accounts, key takeaways, and bold visions for advancing gender equality, both at home and globally.

This interactive webinar is part of OCIC’s Policy Matters series, hosted by members of the Youth Policy-Makers Hub (YPH). In previous sessions, we explored the origins and impact of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPfA), and its relevance in the Canadian context. Now, we turn our focus to how the BPfA was highlighted and propelled forward at CSW69. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with policy advocates and youth leaders who are outlining the path forward

About OCIC’s Youth Policy Makers Hub (YPH):

OCIC YPH is a diverse group of 25 youth members from Ontario, aged 18-35 years, seeking to engage in international cooperation policy processes in support of Gender Equality, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In doing so, we also hope to increase the awareness and interest of Ontarians, especially youth, in international cooperation and key global issues, and to offer opportunities for meaningful participation in advocacy and policy-making processes, meetings and delegations.

Meet the speakers:

Dorothy Baziwe, Executive Director of Shelter and Settlements Alternative (SSA)
Meseret Haileyesus, Executive Director of Canadian Centre for Women’s Empowerment (CCFWE)
