The Volunteer’s Role
As the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor, you will be required to apply your demonstrated and extensive organizational skills in developing, integrating, coordinating, aligning a strategic plan that uses time and resources effectively and efficiently, in support of the SHARE project in Iringa, Tanzania.
You will be well supported by the Iringa project partners, all eager to collaborate with you to improve the local growth of SMEs through your knowledge and input
As a volunteer, you will:
Develop M&E plans, assisted with other staff, you will be required to create and develop comprehensive M&E plans of the SIDO TLED HUB
Create and develop data collection tools as well as develop a database of SMEs
Regularly review data collection processes, perform data quality assessments, and make adjustments as needed
Provide capacity building to SIDO & BSBI staff on Monitoring and evaluation
Conduct regular visits to field sites to provide assistance and ensure proper monitoring of SIDO supported beneficiaries
Collaborate with government stakeholders and local partners and build their capacity to carry out monitoring and evaluation activities
Produce high quality and timely MEAL reports for SIDO Iringa, and BSBI, including documentation of successes, data analysis for indicator aggregation and reporting, summary of qualitative results, etc
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (Advanced degree preferred) in International Development, statistics, public policy, demographics, Monitoring and evaluation or related field required.
Essential Background:
At least 4 years work experience in an M&E position
2 – 3 years’ work experience in project management, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in women and youth empowerment projects
Facilitation and training skills; experience in development and delivering workshops
Skilled in MS office
Experience in project management delivery

Partner - Small Industries Development Organization
SIDO was founded in October 1973 as a government-owned organization under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Marketing. It aimed to foster the growth of the small industry sector in Tanzania. SIDO's responsibilities included policy formulation, direct assistance to industries, and establishment of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). Notable initiatives included the establishment of Industrial Estates, Technology Development Centers, and direct marketing efforts.
