This Volunteer Placement is available in the following countries: Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname

The Volunteer’s Role
The primary objective of this placement is to support our partner, the National Conversation Trust Fund of Jamaica in incorporating gender equality and social inclusion into its policies, programs, and services.

As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in strengthening the abilities of the staff by providing engaging training sessions on gender equality concepts and effectively incorporating Gender Equality and Social Inclusion into programming.

As a volunteer, you will:

Assess staff capabilities in implementing gendered policies, programs, and services
Aid in creating and providing training materials and conducting training sessions for staff members from the National Conversation Trust Fund of Jamaica, women’s rights organizations, and environmental organizations on integrating gender equality into their programs using a human-rights-based approach.
Assist in developing operational and HR policies.
Essential Requirements:

University degree in social/political sciences, international development, human rights, gender studies, women's studies, social work, law, public policy or a related field.
Essential Background:

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a role focused on fostering gender equality, promoting diversity, and/or advancing women's development initiatives.
Experience in providing training and facilitating sessions related to gender equality and social inclusion
Experience with government agencies and senior management

Cuso International's terms and conditions allow you to lead a modest and healthy lifestyle while being effective in your placement. This support package will cover basic living expenses for one volunteer and is not intended to cover home-based expenses (eg. loans, support payments, etc.) or luxury items such as imported items in placement or international personal travel.

Provide two Professional References and one Personal Reference
Complete an oral assessment during your preliminary telephone interview in the language required for your placement
Obtain a Police Check at our request
Complete a full medical exam and be medically cleared before your departure

Fundraising

We ask each volunteer, regardless of placement length, to raise $2,000. All volunteers receive support from Cuso International to help achieve the goal through fundraising. If the volunteer chooses not to fundraise or is unable to achieve the fundraising goal, he/she can make a one-time donation or become a monthly donor to support our work.
