The Volunteer’s Role
In Tanzania, Cuso International deals with helping citizens to attain Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth (ISEG) and improved Access to Quality Health Services (AQHS). Cuso International has been working with partner organizations in Tanzania since 1963 to bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds, enabling them to share skills and knowledge with various beneficiaries.
The purpose of the Organization Development Advisor volunteer is to support Agape Aids Control Programme (Agape) to strengthen its internal capacity to continue to advance its mandate, mission, and vision. This will entail a full capacity assessment process (CAP) to better understand existing practices and opportunities. By spending a considerable amount of time familiarising yourself with Agape’s work in gender-based violence (GBV) and child, early and forced marriage (CEFM) prevention, you will be better positioned to draft a full human resource (HR) guide with policies, job descriptions, roles and responsibilities, organizational chart, etc.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Carry out an organizational Capacity Assessment Process (CAP) for Agape
- Facilitate the development of a capacity building plan
- Support organizational planning including creation of organizational charts, strategic plans, review of roles and responsibilities and job descriptions
- Draft a new HR manual tailored for Agape
- Train and mentor Agape staff on HR practices
Essential Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Project Management or Communications
Essential Professional Background:
- 2-3 years’ experience in an NGO at the managerial position
- Experience in organizational development leadership and team building training
- Positive and realistic commitment
- Commitment to learning
- Self-assurance, Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to work well with others
- Sensitivity to the needs of others
Support Package
