Brief Description:
PURPOSE
Assess World Renew’s sponsorship financial guidelines and budget template in light of governmental requirements, and assist sponsoring groups (which can include individuals, families, or church groups) to develop the needed budget and settlement plans.
**Please note that this position is part-time (up to 20 hours per week), and is expected to last for 6 months.
*Please note, we do not sponsor employment in Canada, so you must have the work authorization in Canada without sponsorship to be considered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Analyze and assess World Renew's budget template and sponsorship finance guidelines in terms of consistency and compliance with government guidelines/ requirements and World Renew’s Sponsorship Agreement. Consult with and review other Sponsorship Agreement Holder’s formats and guidelines used.
-Revise World Renew's budget template and sponsorship finance guidelines as necessary.
-For privately sponsored applications submitted and for privately sponsored applications to be submitted
a. communicate and interpret the finance guidelines and budget template with sponsors
b. provide guidance to sponsors on the finance guidelines and requirements of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada as well as the budget development based on the family composition of the persons to be sponsored
c. ensure budgets are returned to World Renew for review in a timely fashion.
d. review budgets and settlement plans, provide feedback and ensure budgets and settlement plans are correct and finalized prior to the submission of a private sponsorship application
-Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
-Able to respect and support the mission, vision and values of the CRCNA

-Demonstrated commitment to promote a work environment that values diversity and equality, as well as have respectful relationships with others
-Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
-Demonstrated bookkeeping skills and/or basic accounting knowledge and principles
-Demonstrated budgeting and financial management experience with ability to explain budgets and financial management to sponsoring groups
-Demonstrated competency in various computer applications, Google products, and Microsoft Office (Excel)
-General knowledge about refugee resettlement and the private sponsorship of refugees is preferred
-Experience in working with external partners in program delivery is preferred
-Cooperative demeanour; flexible and adaptable team player
-Disciplined, self-motivated work style
-Well-developed organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize when faced with multiple tasks
-A working knowledge of the CRCNA and particularly of World Renew is an asset
-Legal ability to work in Canada
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
At minimum a college diploma in bookkeeping, accounting or related field is required
Two years of work experience in financial management and/or budgeting is preferred
