Write for Rights

Event Details

The Amnesty International (AI) Toronto Young Professionals Network (YPN) is super excited to be hosting it’s first Write for Rights on January 10, 2019, at the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) in Regent Park.

Every year supporters across the globe write millions of letters and take actions for people whose human rights are under attack, in what has become the world’s most prominent human rights campaign. Last year at least 4.6 million actions were taken.

Our messages help convince government officials to release people imprisoned for expressing their opinion (called “prisoners of conscience” by Amnesty), stop the use of torture, commute death sentences and end other human rights abuses.

Free admission but donations are welcomed.

The AI YPN team is planning an event that focuses on Human Rights (HR), with a social twist to allow the participants to have engaging conversations about HR while enjoying refreshments and snacks.

The event will also be an occasion to celebrate Amnesty International Toronto Young Professional Network first anniversary!
