Location: Toronto
Contract Type: Part-time two-year contract, with an opportunity for extension
Commitment: 15-20 hours per week
Compensation: Hourly rate of $37.18

The Youth Employment Lead (Bilingual) is a part-time job share position. Reporting to the Youth Employment Lead, this position will provide support to YCI’s youth/young professionals employment strategy, with a specific focus on ensuring all project activities are conducted in both official languages. We are seeking a passionate, skilled, creative, independent and dynamic candidate to drive and deliver exceptional results. We are looking for people to join our team who believe in youth as powerful agents of change and their ability to transform lives and communities.

Responsibilities will include:
♣ Implementation of key components a global internship and employment program;
♣ Recruitment, selection and coordination of interns, with a focus on outreach to Francophone communities;
♣ Establishment of strong relationships with French speaking partner organizations;
♣ Organization and facilitation of pre-departure and debrief training activities for young professionals;
♣ Provision of support, guidance and coaching during intern placements;
♣ Assist with the coordination and development of career enhancement activities;
♣ Support the compiling and writing of donor progress reports;
♣ Translation of key program materials and tools (English to French);
♣ Coordination with key members from the Toronto and partner teams towards the best possible results.

Skills and Experience:
♣ Bilingual in English/French is required;
♣ A degree or diploma in a relevant field preferred;
♣ 3 years of direct program management and/or international development field experience required, preferably in the youth sector;
♣ 3+ years of demonstrated experience in volunteer/internship management;
♣ Strong recruitment experience and relationships with French speaking communities or networks;
♣ Knowledge and proficiency in budget management;

♣ Interest and knowledge about youth livelihoods and employment for young professionals;
♣ Demonstrated creativity in project and people management;
♣ Strong knowledge and understanding of the international context and Global Affairs Canada funding mechanisms;
♣ Experience translating professional program documents and tools;
♣ Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills;
♣ Exceptional writing skills and keen attention to detail
♣ Entrepreneurial self-starter with a hands-on approach;
♣ Ability to work in a multi-stakeholder environment;
♣ Ability to work with minimal supervision;
