Refugee Program Associate - Part-Time - Based in British Columbia

World Renew, an agency of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, is currently looking for a part-time (up to a maximum of 10 hours per week) Refugee Program Associate. This position, based in British Columbia, works to recruit of private sponsors, as well as train, equip and support them. In addition, this role will promote the Sponsorship and Resettlement Program of World Renew. This position will assist in ensuring compliance with the sponsorship agreement between World Renew and the Government of Canada.

Responsibilities:
-Promote Private Sponsorship among the CRCs of British Columbia
-Assist sponsors in assessing whether they are ready to undertake a sponsorship
-Plan training and networking sessions for sponsors to better equip sponsors for their settlement responsibilities and to provide opportunities for sponsors to share sponsorship experiences
-Assist sponsors with sponsorship applications, settlement plans and budgets
-Provide support and guidance for budget and settlement planning and for settlement upon arrival of newcomers
-Assist with ensuring sponsors are in compliance with IRCC regulations, procedures and policies
-Monitor settlement at minimum at months 3 and 9 and post sponsorship period, and provide assistance with month 13 transitions.
-Ensure connections between sponsors and local settlement and social services agencies, with the goal of partnership that will enhance sustainable support for refugees and increase churches’ capacity for sponsorship and support
-Assist in developing sponsorship resources such as an Intercultural awareness/cultural intelligence to be shared with sponsors
-Enable the offering of trauma healing training to churches as needed
-Prepare and submit reports as requested
-Perform other duties as assigned
