The Volunteer’s Role
The Gender Equality Network (GEN) is diverse and inclusive network of more than 100 civil society organizations, national and international NGOs and Technical Resource Persons working to bring about gender equality and the fulfilment of women's rights in Myanmar. While they are experts in women’s rights and gender equality, they are struggling to implement strong systems to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of their work.
This is where you come in! You will work closely with the current monitoring and evaluation coordinator to review the existing information, to strengthen staff skill, to provide technical support to set up systems where all the members can evidence the value of being involved in the network. At the end of the placement it is expected that the new systems and tools will be in place and staff will be prepared to use them on an ongoing basis both internally and in donor reporting. The organization will be able to take their learning and transfer it into visual products that can more clearly illustrate where and how they work to build sustainable change in Myanmar.
As a volunteer, you will:
Review and develop Monitoring & Evaluation tools and train staff on how to utilize the tools
Set up M & E System relevant to the network structure
Strengthen the capacity of the staff on Monitoring and Evaluation
Work on a gender sensitive M & E System to train staff
Organizational Development tasks required (10 %)
Essential Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree on social science, gender and/or development studies or equivalent
Essential Professional Background:
At least 3 years experienced in some of the following work
Gender
Monitoring & Evaluation
Donor Reporting
Advanced Excel and other software relevant to M & E
