Event Summary
An important update from Canadian Jesuits International's partners in Venezuela
Event Details
Join Canadian Jesuits International for an important update from our partners in Venezuela.
Tens of thousands of Venezuelans are still facing uncertainty and profound loss in the aftermath of the twin earthquakes on June 24.
Canadian Jesuits International and other Jesuit development organizations and mission offices belonging to the Xavier Network have responded quickly to the disaster by launching a coordinated appeal for Venezuela.
Our Jesuit partners are providing immediate aid and support to families and communities affected by the earthquakes, while also starting to plan the long-term recovery process.
On Thursday, July 16, at 1 p.m. EDT, we will have the opportunity to learn more from our partners about how the Jesuit response is being coordinated. Our guest speakers are:
- Fr. Edgar Magallanes, S.J., Country Director of Jesuit Refugee Service Venezuela
- Asunción Taboada Lanza, Emergency Coordinator of the Xavier Network
- Juan Andrés Carderera, Fe y Alegría, Finance & Communications Team
They will provide us with a live update on the current situation in Venezuela, how Jesuit organizations are responding to the crisis, and what the long-term recovery efforts will look like. Please join us for this important event.
