Brief Description:

Skills Generator: Human x Tech is a new training opportunity with YCI for young people (ages 18-24) to gain in-demand knowledge, skills and networks for future careers while using AI for good. In just a few hours per week, we blend in-person events with online workshops, mentorship and team projects so you can stand out in the job market, while making an impact in your community.

Program Format:
A mix of virtual workshops, mentorship and in-person events in Markham/Vaughan. Only ~3 hours/week for 10 weeks.

What you’ll gain:
• Strengthen in-demand skills to boost your career and resumé
• Explore how to use AI – ethically and effectively – in real-life situations
• Work on solving community challenges with a team of your peers
• Connect with other young people, municipal government and industry leaders

Important Dates:
• Markham cohort: June 2 – August 4, 2026
Apply by: May 13
• Vaughan cohort: September 25 – November 26, 2026
Apply by: August 18

Who should apply:
• Youth ages 18–24: Priority for those who are un/under-employed and not in education.
• Able to attend a few in-person event in Markham/ Vaughan
• Open to all backgrounds: Zero previous experience required.
