Brief Description:

TEMBO is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to supporting local Tanzanian partners in providing educational empowerment opportunities to women and girls. The Board of Directors is a working board for this all-volunteer organization. Board members provide strategic guidance and governance to the organization, participate in board meetings and supporting board committees, ensure the organization’s commitment to its mission and values, engage in and support fundraising in order to ensure financial viability of the organization, oversee financial performance and risk management activities, and collaborate with other board members to set long-term goals and strategies.
Board members are expected to complete a 3-year term.
Required Skills: Previous non-profit board experience. Proven experience (at least 5 years) in governance, legal or financial areas.
Currently, TEMBO is filling two positions on the Board of Directors. One of the candidates should be a financial professional interested in potentially filling the role of Treasurer to the Board.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, strategic thinking are important.
Optional Skills: An understanding of international development and/or fundraising would be beneficial.
