Brief Description:

Cuso International’s e-volunteering program welcomes new and returning volunteers to work with our international program partners and volunteers remotely. E-volunteering offers many of the benefits gained from on-site volunteering, while having the extra advantage of fitting in one's regular weekly schedule without needing a passport. Contributing and giving back to a community, gaining new skills, and making new connections are common benefits of e-volunteering and for Cuso International it is a great opportunity to engage more people in its mission.

The Volunteer’s Role

Cuso International has an exciting e-volunteer opportunity for a passionate Human Resource specialist who is knowledgeable in current job market trends and career building skills. We welcome applications from skilled professionals and new graduates in this field.

As an e-volunteer, you will work with the Travel and Reintegration Coordinator to develop an interactive training session for returned volunteers that explores career support and development. This session will provide volunteers with practical information that will enable them to showcase their skills developed while in placement and rebrand them to a North American job market.

Ideally, the applicant will be fluent in English and French to allow the presentation to be developed in both official languages. If the volunteer is based locally, they will have the option of delivering and facilitation this presentation and information session during the Volunteer Reintegration Weekend at Cuso International HQ in Ottawa.

As an e-volunteer, you will:

- Prepare two presentations that can be utilized for skill and career development.

- Prepare interactive activities for volunteers to utilize the skills they have learned from the presentation.

- Prepare facilitators guidelines for presentation of the material.

-(If available) Deliver and facilitate the presentation and information session at Reintegration weekends located at Cuso International HQ.

Essential Academic Qualifications:

-Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or related field (desirable). Recent graduates or current students studying towards a degree in Human Resources are also welcomed to apply.

Essential Professional Background:

-Two to five years recent experience in the field of career support/development.
