The Volunteer’s Role
The Organizational Development Advisor will contribute to strengthening CSONA and the existing Nutrition Coordinating Committees by helping them plan, implement and monitor multi-sectoral nutrition programs. The focus will primarily be on strengthening the coordinating committees so that they can provide supported supervision, outreach, project management and monitoring to local communities in the region. The volunteer will also provide limited communications support to coordinate and collaborate with different stakeholders involved in the project.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Map, review and monitor food and nutrition security priorities, policies and objectives
- Review the National Nutrition Policy and Strategic Plan and assess their implications on the SANI project
- Coordinate the development of a nutrition research agenda and oversee its implementation
- Provide nutrition policy direction and guidance to key stakeholders
- Identify issues of nutrition at national and district levels, as well as best practices from SANI
Essential Academic Qualifications:
Degree in Business Administration, Development, or in a related field
Essential Professional Background:
-At least 2 years of experience living, working or volunteering in Africa
-Organizational development/planning
-Knowledge of the Scaling Up Nutrition movement
-Experience conducting organizational assessments,
-Developing recommendations and implementing them
-Strong research and analysis skills
-Excellent communications skills
