The Program and Business Development Advisor will support the overall effort to mobilize an appropriate and sustainable funding base for various partner organizations under the Volunteers for International Cooperation and Empowerment (VOICE) project in Nigeria. You will be working with several VOICE partner organizations in Calabar to support the development and implementation of successful grant proposals and partnerships development strategies.
VOICE is a five-year multi-country project funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada. The expected ultimate outcome of the project is improved economic and social well-being of poor and marginalized communities in 23 developing countries.
As a volunteer, you will:
-Conduct a stewardship audit to identify past challenges to renewing institutional and individual donors
-Assist various VOICE partner organizations in developing a case for support for each core program
-Identify and build relationships with foundations, multi-laterals and private donors who have not previously supported the work of VOICE partner organizations
-Work collaboratively with VOICE partner organizations to write and submit funding proposals
Essential Academic Qualifications:
- A university degree in public relations, communication, business, marketing or related social science field
Essential Professional Background:
- At least 3 years related work experience in non-governmental organizations, development agencies, hospitals, community based organisations in fundraising, business development and/or program development
-Experience writing and submitting grant proposals
