The Volunteer’s Role

This challenging but fulfilling volunteer role will provide you with a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the social enterprise landscape in the Philippines and develop methods and frameworks to highlight impact stories and identify and address key communication gaps within the organization and ecosystem stakeholders. It offers vast professional and personal opportunities for you and supports the development of start-ups that aim to increase the standard of living for those who live at the bottom of the pyramid (BOP) as well as the ecosystem from which they pull their support.

Through this placement, you will provide Villgro Philippines, a leading social enterprise incubator in the Philippines, with support by enhancing the reputation and visibility of the organization both locally and internationally. You will be an integral part of communications strategy creation and subsequent delivery of information and knowledge both to stakeholders in the international Villgro network and those in the greater social enterprise ecosystem.

As a volunteer, your duties will include:

-Communications Management

-Content Creation and Curation

-Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

-Knowledge Management Development

Essential Academic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or similar alternative

Essential Professional Background:

- Proven track record of managing projects
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- Understanding of organizational branding and experience regulating the implementation of branding requirements
- Ability to capture and communicate key information, and develop and communicate impact stories
- Ability to write outstanding copy and manage key communication channels
- Ability to collaboratively develop communications strategies
