Be the Change: Documentary Screening for World Toilet Day

Event Details

Join us for a special online screening of Mr. Toilet: The World’s #2 Man in recognition of World Toilet Day. This is a feature length documentary, lasting 88 minutes.

How it works:
This is a one-time only, live-stream screening at 7pm on Thursday Nov. 19, 2020. Registrants will receive a Zoom link to join the online viewing party hosted by MCIC. We suggest logging in a few minutes early to set up your device and settle in comfortably.

Toilets save lives, because human waste spreads killer diseases. Yet, 4.2 Billion people (more than half the world’s population) live without safely managed sanitation. Join us to learn about how toilets are life-savers, dignity-protectors and opportunity-makers. In honour of World Toilet Day and Sustainable Development Goal #6: Clean Water and Sanitation we’re screening a fun and educational documentary about Jack Sim, head of the World Toilet Organization. Sim uses a unique blend of facts and humour to bring attention to the life-threatening issues millions of people face because of a lack of safe sanitation.

“Bringing poop culture to pop culture is the fastest way to solve the problem”, says Sim. “Every single person, of different ages, handicapped, LGBT — they all have to be cared for. Every single person needs a toilet.” Watch Sim on his quest to flush taboos about toilet talk while trying to increase the number of toilets in the world by 6 million in 2 years.
