A JUST FUTURE FOR ALL: Accompanying forcibly displaced people in Colombia
Event Details
Join us on Tuesday, November 17 at 1:00 pm (ET) as Juana Potes, Programs Officer of Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Colombia, talks about the work of JRS in Colombia and their challenging context. Amid a global pandemic, they accompany, serve, and advocate on behalf of forcibly displaced people.
JRS Colombia has been accompanying forcibly displaced people and local host communities in the municipality of Barrancabermeja for over 25 years. Their work focuses on strengthening relationships between these two populations and facilitating the integration of migrants, especially women, who struggle to adjust to their new environment and face the ever-present threat of violence in the area. Now, they face the additional challenge of COVID-19 which is especially affecting vulnerable communities and forcibly displaced people.
