Reflexivity and Positionality as Students, Researchers, and Practitioners of International Development

Event Details

This Monday, August 17th, from 5-7pm EST, the Knowledge Equity Lab and Open Praxis Forum will be hosting an open discussion with Thesis Award Winners Sana Najafi and Alyssa Esparaz on Reflexivity and Positionality as Students, Researchers, and Practitioners of International Development.

They will be discussing their research and experiences more broadly as students of International Development. Summaries and reflections can be found on OPF here:

This is a pre-launch event in preparation for the Knowledge Equity Lab’s formal launch on September 24th, 2020 (save the date!) These events seek to highlight various projects within the KEL network, seeking to advance shared goals of knowledge equity, epistemic diversity, knowledge inclusion, and the centering of underrepresented knowledge as a means of social justice and change.

The Open Praxis Forum (OPF) is one such project, created out of necessity to showcase early-career researchers’ work, and mobilize and collectivize existing communities of knowledge creators through collaborative learning and discussions.

This live event will include a structured discussion where Sana and Alyssa will discuss their work, followed by an open discussion where participants will be invited to share their own experiences and reflections with research, positionality, and any other emerging themes.
