SEEKING PARTNERS (TO RAISE FUNDS FOR YOUR OWN PROJECTS) AND RIDERS!

The 16th Annual Canada Africa Partnership (CAP) Ride is a fundraising bike-a-thon bringing together like-minded communities across Canada to mobilize funds in support of community development projects in Africa.

The events have, over the years, taken place each June in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver in support of community projects in Africa. Together, these bike-a-thons have generated more than $400,000 and have engaged more than 1,200 participants. Recognizing the unprecedented challenges posed by COVID-19, to projects in Africa and to fundraising efforts here at home, CAP Network has invited partners to join us in this campaign, in solidarity with our common efforts.

The bike rally takes place on the weekend of June 5-7, with riders taking off from their homes all across the country. CAP Network is harnessing technologies like Zoom to create an engaging virtual weekend experience, allowing riders to stay safe and stay active while raising much needed funds for grassroots efforts to build health, support education, and reduce poverty in African communities.

The COVID-19 shutdown is devastating many African communities that are already struggling to meet basic needs. There are fears that it may cause famine in combination with drought, conflict and other challenges. It is creating very real setbacks in efforts to promote health, stimulate economic growth and achieve gender equality. With urgent fundraising needs and strain on the non-profit sector, the CAP Ride is providing several organizations with a way to come together and raise funds collectively to support grassroots action for communities on the frontlines of COVID-19 and food insecurity.

Sign up and pledge raising remains the same. Once you’ve registered, you’ll begin receiving emails from the CAP Ride organizing team with more details about how we’ll be engaging together along the way.

We look forward to sharing this new CAP Ride experience with you!
