Join us for “I Am Rohingya: A Genocide in Four Acts”, a powerful documentary film screening and storytelling event that chronicles the journey of fourteen Rohingya youth who take to the stage in order to depict their families’ harrowing escape from Burma. With no prior acting experience, the decision to re-enact the stories of their people becomes a courageous act of resistance, demonstrating to the world that they will not be erased, and they will not be silenced.
Co-hosted by OCIC and Miles Nadal JCC, the event will consist of a pre-show reception and silent auction, film screening and storytelling Q&A session with Director Yusuf Zine and Rohingya youth cast members profiled in OCIC’s 2019 Transformations Photojournalism Exhibition.
