The Inter-Council Network of Provincial and Regional Councils for International Cooperation (ICN), in partnership with Karen Craggs-Milne, a leading Canadian gender expert, is pleased to offer a national, bilingual webinar to help support small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) from across Canada respond to the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) recent call for preliminary proposals for SMOs under its Development Impact window.

In this 90-minute webinar Karen will present a consolidated overview of the various gender equality requirements in the new call for proposals to ensure a strengthened understanding of both what is expected, and how to ‘do business differently’. This will be followed by an opportunity for Karen to respond to specific questions from webinar participants through a written Q&A period.

Topics covered in the webinar will include:

Context: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Government of Canada’s new Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP), Canada’s ODA priorities
Understanding GAC’s new program typology: Gender-targeted vs Gender integrated (fully / partially) and what it means for program design
Gender equality in Results-based Management (RBM) tools: where and how is gender equality included across RBM tools
GAC’s 3 Gender Equality Objectives: Possible results statements and indicators
Gender based analysis: What, why and how
In order to ensure that as many interested small and medium-sized organizations as possible are able to participate in this webinar, we ask that webinar participants from the same organization call in together as a group on one line, rather than register individually, wherever possible.

We also strongly encourage all webinar participants to take the Status of Women free two-hour online Gender-Based Analysis course in advance of the webinar, as it will provide a good foundation for the webinar discussion.

This webinar will be recorded, and the recording will be shared through the Provincial and Regional Councils and the ICN following the session for those that were not able to participate, or that wish to review the materials again, and to share it with colleagues and partners as you prepare your preliminary proposals.
