Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals call for bold and transformative action to achieve better results and greater impact for poverty reduction. This is where innovation can play a role. Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy includes a focus on innovation, research and results. This webinar will provide an overview of Global Affairs’ approach to development innovation and provide an opportunity for dialogue and an exchange ideas on innovation.

Facilitator: Loree Semeluk, Global Affairs Canada
Loree Semeluk is the Deputy Director of the Development Innovation Unit at Global Affairs Canada. She heads the Development Innovation Unit at Global Affairs Canada with a mandate to support development programming across the department to integrate new and innovative ways of delivering Canada’s international assistance. Innovation and creativity have always been a part of her career with the Government of Canada in international development over the past 15 years. She has worked on a variety of cross-sectoral development policy and programming issues, including during postings in Ghana and Bangladesh. She has also represented Canada as donor co-chair of sector working groups with local governments. Loree holds a Master’s degree in International Development from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University.
