4th Annual Ottawa Women’s March // 4e Marche des Femmes Ottawa
Event Details
Women’s March Ottawa is excited to that we will once again be hitting the streets to protest all forms of oppression and discrimination in Ottawa, Canada and Globally on March 7th 2020.
We acknowledge that we will be gathering and protesting on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin people. As an Ottawa based feminist group, we acknowledge the historic and current impacts of colonialism. We commit to reconciliation and living out right relations with Indigenous peoples.
MARCH ROUTE: We will be marching from Parliament Hill to Ottawa City Hall. The exact route will be posted closer to the day of the event. There will be an accessibility bus available for those who require it. For more information regarding the bus, please email womensmarchottawa@gmail.com
Following the March, we will gather at Ottawa City Hall’s Jean Pigott Place for refreshments, workshops, speeches from local community activists and elected officials, and performances by local artists. There will be no cost for this event. Ottawa City Hall and Jean Pigott Place are wheelchair accessible. Gender neutral bathrooms are available at City Hall.
Grounded in the values of intersectional feminism, Women’s March Ottawa is committed to challenging all forms of systemic discrimination, bias, and oppression. We believe fiercely in the inclusion of all women in our movement, including women of colour, Indigenous women, working-class and low-income women, women of all ages, newcomer women, women with disabilities, women of diverse religious backgrounds, and LGBTQ2S+ women. We pursue, unapologetically, a world in which all women can thrive and carry out their lives in the way they choose. For these reasons and more, we’re marching again in 2020.
